Have you ever wondered how the Desert Spray Wind Turbine works, how engineers design bridges, or how submarines work? Are you interested in being in the next generation of creators and inventors? Engineering campers will investigate with highly engaging hands-on challenges such as windmills, bridges, and submersibles. These and many other S.T.E.M. related investigations will be taught in our S.T.E.M. Education Classroom at ABJS Desert Spray Wind Turbine. Campers will also take a local field trip. Be a part of ABJ’s Young Engineers and become part of the ABJS – Outdoor Summer S.T.E.M Camp!

Have you ever thought about the 66 acres of the ABJS – Outdoor Summer S.T.E.M. Camp as an outdoor science classroom? During this exciting adventure, we will explore nature and become amateur photographers. Each day campers will hike the Mountain Mist property noting interesting insects, trees, plants, and wildlife while keeping a digital record of their discoveries.

During all of these experiences, instruction will be given by experienced science educators on how to use simple science equipment and most importantly digital cameras. Join us and become a member of the ABJS – Outdoor Summer S.T.E.A.M. Camp. This camp will run during Session 2, July 15th through July 22nd, 2016. Cameras are available in the camp. Campers do not need to bring theirs.

Session 2: July – No dates

Platinum Members: $1,000.00 Premium Members: $750.00

Forensic science will allow participants to gain hands-on experience with “CSI” style techniques, including fingerprint, DNA sample testing, and crime scene processing. In addition, students will be taught to develop observation, problem-solving, communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills. Campers will also take local field trips to a museum.

Session 3: July 

 Lead Camp Counselor: (will be announced), ABJS Teacher and S.T.E.M. Educator

Platinum Members: $1,000.00 Premium Members: $750.00

Through hands-on investigations, campers will experience various S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Art’s) concepts. Campers can expect to create take-home projects, launch a rocket, and nature is hiking our beautiful High Deserts Mountains. In addition, campers will develop observation, communication, and collaboration skills. Campers will also take a local field trip to a museum.

Session 4:  (combined Section 3-4 classes) July
